An event of this size will no doubt have some hiccups and rooms for improvements. Thus, we invite and encourage everyone (Boosters members, educators/instructional staff/students, DHS admin) to attend the post-mortem meeting this Wednesday, 11/2/2016, at 7:00PM in the Choir Room (next to band room) to discuss the successes and the opportunities for improvements for future events. If you cannot come to the meeting but would like to provide feedback, please feel free to email me.
Again, congratulations and a HUGE thank you to all!
President, DHS Music Boosters
Dear DHS Irish Guard Marching Band and Color Guard parents,
I hope you had the opportunity to experience the wonderful halftime field show at the home football game last Friday by the DHS Irish Guard Marching Band and Color Guard. It was their first performance this season and they looked and sounded great. Props for the show have been ordered and we have a crew of parent volunteers helping to build frames for the bases.
The competition season will start in earnest on Saturday, 10/22 and run for 6 consecutive weekends. This will be a great opportunity for you to show support for your student musician and/or color guard. And if you are able to participate as part of the pit-crew, you will get front row viewing of the show!!!
As you may know, having an award-winning music program requires a lot of time commitments from teachers/staff, students, as well as the parents. Aside from time commitments, there is also the need of financial commitments.
The budget for the DHS Music Program is close to $160,000 for the 2016-2017 school year. This budget is satisfied by two sources of funding: 1) voluntary contributions from parents and 2) fundraising events that are held through out the school year.
If you have not yet made a contribution for your student musician, I encourage you to make it a priority for this coming week before the competition season begins.

If you have already made your contribution, the DHS Music Boosters would like to thank you for supporting both your student musician/color guard and the DHS Music Program.
And if you have not yet experience the field show, please reserve one or more spot on your calendar for the upcoming six competitions on their schedule.
Thank you for your time and considerations.
President, DHS Irish Guard Music Boosters
P.S.: If your student is in the DHS music program or color guard, you are automatically a member of the DHS Irish Guard Music Boosters.
