Dear Choir Parents,
Welcome to Choir at Dublin High! Allow me to introduce myself, I am Allie Lopiano, your child's Choir Teacher/Director.
I am excited to meet you all throughout the year.
I wanted to give you a quick insight to my classroom philosophy: I want to create a whole musician. My mission is to inspire and develop artistic excellence, and to foster confidence, preparedness, team skills and a healthy vocal technique. The art of music affects our emotions in a most direct, powerful, and untranslatable fashion. Music transcends language; it goes beyond the limits of words and can affect us in ways that nothing else in the world can. It allows us to grow. There exist countless non-musical benefits through membership in choir as well. Attention to discipline, stage presence, manners, self-confidence, work ethic, cooperation, responsibility, and fostering a desire to improve are but a few.
Without our parent involvement volunteering at fundraisers and concerts, we would not be able to perform high caliber performances, travel to festivals/ contests and participate in field trips. All of these opportunities benefit students to further their musicianship. We are currently getting new concert attire to demonstrate a professional demeanor and performance. At Dublin we are fortunate to have a new Performing Arts Center, which our students will be performing in concerts throughout the year. Though I am new to Dublin High, I have every intention to build a strong supportive and thriving choral program; your support is critical. In partnership with the Band Parents, the DHS Music Program has a Music Boosters. We are seeking parents to join our mailing list and participate in volunteering at fundraisers to help support DHS Music Program, especially the Choirs.
I can say with absolute certainty that I have enjoyed working with each and everyone of your students. They are amazing, creative and willing to learn anything. I am extremely excited for this upcoming year and the vocal potential of these singers!
All My Best,
